Weather in the desert
The sun shines almost every day in the Sahara. It is always a very strong sun, so make sure to bring a hat, scarf or turban. In winter our days are mild and warm. Winter temperatures are between 18 and 25 degrees. In the winter nights it can get extremely cold, sometimes even a bit below freezing point. During summer the days are hot, temperatures can go up to 60 degrees. While driving in a 4x4 you will be protected from the sun and it will feel comfortable with the fresh wind coming through the windows. During our breaks we will eat, drink and rest in the shade of some trees and you can use the water from the wells gently.

Although there can be days when there is no wind at all, be prepared for a sandstorm. They can come unexpectedly, but you can be assured that we are well prepared and will look after your safety first of everything. Our guide knows the desert by head and can find the road anywhere.

Transport & accommodation
We will start our journey in the small village of Bani Hayoune with a 4x4 or by foot if you have chosen for the camel walking trip. You can bring all your luggage safely with you inside the car during the whole trip, or leave the luggage safe in a locked room in our home in Bani Hayoune, if you wish this. If we leave on foot accompanied by camels, we will ask you to leave unnecessary luggage at our home so as not to overwhelm the camels.

During our trip to the camp, there will be no sanitary installations on the road. We will bring toilet paper and if you need a "toilet", you can hide behind a tree or between the dunes. We urge you to take all your rubbish with you, we will carry a bag with us where you can put your rubbish until we get back to Bani Hayoune. During the trip we will come across several wells where you can wash yourself. Please use all the water carefully and keep all water clean. We are in the desert and water is extremely scarce.

In the evening we will arrive to the camp, where you will have your own private tent. You can keep your luggage and belongings inside the 4x4 or in your tent. In the camp you will find washrooms & a shower. As we will be deep inside the desert and in one of the driest regions of the world, we ask you to always be careful with the water.

What we take care of
Before departure we will buy all the food we need for the whole trip. We will make sure to buy enough bottles of water for drinking (we reuse all bottles afterwards) and we will bring a big bottle of water for washing during our lunch break. We will bring toilet paper, carpets, gas bottles, fire and all the dishes. All meals will be prepared and arranged by OMSahara Tours. We will make sure that everything goes well and your safety is most important for us.

During our trip we can collect some wood to make a campfire in the camp and there will be music instruments inside the camp as well.
