A culinary experience
In our desert trips we would love to offer you a delicious Moroccan food experience of good quality. During the trip, the food will be prepared by Linde and Said. We will prepare traditional Moroccan food, but cooked in a Saharan way on fire. At the camp, several ex-nomads who now live in a permanent camp will cook dinner for you.
The meat that we use is freshly slaughtered in the nearby village, Tagounite, or bought directly from nomads. The sheep and goats we eat run outside every day, in the mountains or in the desert. Our beef is sometimes local, otherwise from the north of Morocco. Most vegetables and fruits that we use are grown in cities with more access to water such as Agadir, Casablanca and Marrakech and are transported down south. All vegetables are seasonal and vary during the time of the year. Some vegetables like okra, a special type of cucumber and desert herbs that we use for our tea, are grown locally. The bread is baked fresh each day in the early morning by local bakers of Tagounite and will be served warm during lunch. In Morocco, all meals are served with bread.

We will bring all the equipment to cook with us on our trip. Cooking will take place in nature, amidst the silence of the Sahara, its animals and beautiful surroundings. We will enjoy our meals on a carpet that we bring with us. All meals are preceded by the strong and sweet Moroccan tea, together with peanuts and biscuits.
Wild cooking is something that has always been a part of the nomad lifestyle and we would like to keep this old but simple way of making food alive. Because many nomads have settled due to the increasing drought, they have chosen for a different way of life in the small villages near the desert. Even after they have settled, the ancient and traditional way of cooking and living is still strong and present.
We are very happy to cook vegetarian and vegan on request and inform us about any allergies you have.
